About Solvecraft, LLC
Solvecraft is the brainchild of Janelle Guillory, who loves solving those weird, frustrating, and even boring issues that happen in business life. From “this is the seventh time I’ve done this today” to “how am I supposed to explain what we did?” and “how many ifs can you nest together in Excel?” (it’s 64).
Have a problem involving spreadsheets, advanced formulas, templates, or data organization/cleaning?
Wish you could automate processes in Excel and make your workflow sturdy with process improvements and documentation?

Guidance on organizing data for streamlined charts, Pivot Tables, import or merging.
About Janelle
Over the years, my supervisors, teams, and clients have praised my ability to see both the forest and the trees when considering the issues at hand. I’ve received a staff award as the person most likely to identify a problem and propose a solution. Often, this meant quickly teaching myself skills to offer better solutions.
I love solving problems and helping teams use tools that make sense for them. When colleagues or friends complain about work issues in my specialty, I often can’t get it out of my head until I find solutions. I like to dive in, learn the team’s issues and pain points, and provide reasonable solutions - ideally with software the team knows or can easily learn.
Since 2007, I’ve worked with various types of data, analysis tools, employers and stakeholders, including the University of Texas at Austin, the Texas Association of School Boards, and Austin Independent School District.
My background includes:
-
Using VBA to maintain and improve dozens of macros for Excel and Word templates that automate and simplify work for compensation, staffing, and survey consulting teams
-
Cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data in Excel for compensation studies
-
Conducting, analyzing, and reporting for employee survey data in K-12 school districts
-
Coordinating, administering, analyzing, and reporting survey data, mostly in Excel, from statewide salary surveys
-
Supporting small nonprofits on a volunteer basis with data organization and automation in Google Sheets and Excel
-
Combining my Excel skills with programming in the SAS statistical language at a university research center
-
Learning social statistics, statistical programming, qualitative research, and social structures through graduate training in sociology
-
Improving data organization and utilization for a school district department serving homeless students
